Firstly, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend celebrating our great country! Secondly, we want you to be safe!
Read on for some tips to keep you and your loved ones safe over the weekend!
Tips
Observe Regulations:

Purchase legal fireworks:
They should be sold legally and will have a label if they are legal. If there is no label, then they are likely illegal.
Choose a safe site:
Choose an area that is clear from dry shrubs, grass, low hanging trees and power lines. Make sure the fireworks are being placed upon a stable ground and that observers are a safe distance from the ignition site.
Personal Safety:
The best advice is to leave the fireworks to the professionals, however if you are going to light your own, then please be safe.
Avoid the use of alcohol, standing over the fireworks, holding the fireworks (including sparklers), aiming at others and trying to relight duds.
Do use safety glasses, use a light stick or utility lighter, keep a water bucket nearby (to throw spent fireworks into), keep a hose nearby for small fires, supervise children (teach them "stop, drop and roll" in case they are lit on fire), keep all observers at least 25 feet away and monitor your pets (consider medications to sedate your pets).
Disposal:
Make sure to soak the spent fireworks and duds overnight in the bucket you brought filled with water!
Have fun this weekend and be safe!
