Extreme Heat Precautions

HEAT WAVE PRECAUTIONS With the extended forecast predicting 90s temperatures next week, we are sharing some preparedness tips from Ready.gov on Extreme Heat. Please take a few moments to read over the tips and find some cool places to hang out next week. The elderly, young and sick or overweight individuals are particularly vulnerable to heat. One precaution that stood out from the Ready.gov site was the following: Do not use electric fans when the temperature outside is more than 95 degrees, as this could increase the risk of heat-related illness. Fans create air flow and a false sense of comfort, but do not reduce body temperature. Should you need further assistance or want additional resources, please contact us.
