MY INSPIRATION

For those of you that don't know, I was inspired to start HT2 Consulting Services after hearing Sandi Daughton, Seattle Times Scientific Reporter and Author of Full Rip 9.0, speak at the Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference in 2014. During the keynote address, Ms. Daughton shared her research and current levels of threat associated with the Cascadia subduction zone and other fault lines in our region. At the conclusion of her speech she challenged the audience to prioritize the seismic integrity of our State's schools. Which inspired me to start my consulting firm, with the ultimate hope of making our schools and the greater community better prepared for our next interruption. Here is the latest article in a continuing series from Ms. Daughton and her co-writer Daniel Gilbert titled 'We Should be Screaming' With Outrage: State Does Little to Protect Schoolkids From Earthquake, Tsunami The article highlights how little the State of Washington has done in comparison with our neighboring Pacific Coast States to the South and our Canadian neighbor to the North. We are significantly behind our neighbors in prioritizing this risk and mitigating its threat. We are simply failing to provide safe institutions for our kids. Please read the article and afterwards reach out to our legislators to encourage them to do more. If you enjoy the article, I would strongly encourage you to read Full Rip 9.0 too! A quick internet search will reveal many options available to purchase the book. We, of course, receive no financial kickbacks.
