Next week is the annual Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. We begin on Tuesday, April 19th and conclude on the 22nd. Personally, I have been attending Partners for nearly a decade and look forward to the Conference each year. So much so, that I joined the steering committee at least six years ago. This year will mark the end of my term as Chair and I am both happy and sad to pass the reigns along to my Vice Chair, Aaron Collins, who will assume the position on July 1, 2016. It has been a great time to serve and work with some amazing colleagues.
In particular, I am looking forward to this year's Conference and encourage you to come join us. Take a look at the agenda here. When you see the value of the sessions, I am sure you will want to consider joining us. We are offering different options for attending this year. You can attend the workshop on Tuesday only for $125, or you can register for only Wednesday or Thursday for only $275 and lastly you can still attend the entire Conference for a savings of $75 dollars, if you register today, as compared to registering on site Tuesday. So, click on the link and come join us! What is stopping you?
If nothing else come see me deliver my final welcome speech on Wednesday morning. I am putting the final touches onto the presentation this week and will be sharing a slide show depicting the impact, response and recovery in progress for the Greenwood neighborhood's natural gas explosion.
I hope to see you at Partners!
